Early Termination of Probation

Individuals charged with criminal offenses in Texas who select probation may qualify for early termination. Typically, you have to serve at least one-third of the duration of probation or two years and remain in good standing by:

  • Maintaining a good relationship with your parole officer
  • Paying fees and fines on time
  • Completing required classes

Ultimately the decision to terminate probation is up to the judge, which is why it's critical to work with an experienced defense attorney to ensure you have the best representation when petitioning for early termination.
